How does PaySika simplify KYC identity verification?
Hello dear PaySiker,
In accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and as part of the fight against financial fraud in Cameroon, data protection is an essential preventive measure.
Like all banks and neobanks, PaySika is required to carry out rigorous KYC checks to onboard and retain its customers.
What documents are required for KYC checks at PaySika?
You have probably heard about the new features in version 3.0.0 of your PaySika application?
If you haven't already, download it now to take advantage of the return of your XAF cards and many other new features!
Once your application has been downloaded or updated on the stores, it's time to check your identity.
KYC verification is a simple, standardised process common to most financial institutions.
At PaySika, we have simplified the process into 4 main steps:
Fill in your personal details such as :
Full name
Neighbourhood
City
Occupation and etc.
Select the type of document you wish to use to verify your identity:
National identity card (CNI)
Receipt
Passport
Residence permit
If you already have a registration document issued by the tax authorities, you can film it or upload it directly into PaySika.
If you don't have one, PaySika can generate one for you for 2,500 FCFA.
Advantage: You don't have to do a thing. We take care of everything and you will receive your NIU directly in the application, ready to be downloaded free of charge for the first time. You can then pick it up at a later date for a fee.
Take a photo of your ID while holding it in your hands. A detailed tutorial is available in the application to guide you.
Simply activate your GPS to indicate your neighbourhood, or upload a water or electricity bill as proof.
What's new with PaySika version 3.0.0?
With this update, the KYC system has been significantly improved to provide a smoother, more intuitive user experience.
You will now need to provide additional information such as your region, income range and profession.
A detailed location map will also be required to enhance the security and accuracy of the information.
If your account is not verified, it will be created but will remain inactive. Your functionalities will be very limited. It is therefore strongly recommended that you check your profile to take full advantage of PaySika's services.
We thank you for your trust and remain at your disposal for any questions.
Please note: if your account is not verified, it will be created but not active. Your room for manoeuvre will be very limited, which is why it's always best to ‘verify’ your profile.
