What documents are required to verify your account?
During the KYC (Know Your Customer) process, and as required by regulatory authorities, we ask you to submit official and valid documents to verify your identity. With our new, more flexible system, you can now start your verification process from anywhere.
Documents Required:
1. NIU (Unique Identification Number)
The NIU is issued by the General Tax Directorate. It is a tax ID used to facilitate tracking of tax obligations and to centralize the financial and tax information of individuals or entities.
Submitting your NIU when creating your account is a legal requirement enforced by regulatory bodies overseeing banking compliance. If you're unable to obtain it on your own, PaySika can generate your NIU for you for a fee of 3,000 FCFA.
2. Valid ID Document
This includes:
Cameroonian National ID (CNI)
Receipt + birth certificate
Passport
Valid residence permit
Make sure your ID has at least 3 to 5 months of validity remaining. When verifying your identity, select one document and record it clearly.
3. Utility Bills (Water or Electricity)
In the Address section, you will have two options to submit your address.
In one of the options, you’ll be required to upload a recent utility bill (issued within the last 1 or 2 months).
4. Other Information
In the remaining steps, you’ll simply provide your personal details, a selfie, and other standard identity information.
We hope this guide helps make your KYC process smoother! For any additional questions, feel free to contact our team via the in-app chat or on social media.
